The Traveling Entrepreneur: Marina Villatoro

Welcome to The Traveling Entrepreneur! Each Monday, we'll feature a different entrepreneur who spends at least part of their working hours on the road. Learn their tips for working from anywhere, what they'd do differently if they had to start their business over again, and their favorite place to travel (so far). Enjoy!

Meet Marina Villatoro

Q. Can you tell me a bit about your business?

A. I teach women (beginner/ newbies) how to day trade with confidence and ease.

Q. What is your favorite thing about being self-employed?

A. Sooo many :) But the best ones is that I am always around for my kids, I can work from anywhere in the world. I can take off whenever I want without answering to anyone.

Q. What is the most challenging aspect of your business?

A. Getting the visibility I need and finding the right clients who really want to do this.

Q. If you had to start your business over from scratch today, what would be your top three priorities?

A. Copy, learning how to sell, and marketing

Q. Do you travel frequently while maintaining your business?

A. Yes!!! My family and I usually travel for 3 months out of the year.

Q. Are there any tools or resources that allow you to work from anywhere that you would recommend to other entrepreneurs?

A. My Laptop :) Everything you need is online, there really isn’t anything that you need that isn’t at your fingertips

Q. What has been your favorite destination so far?

A. Spain was great, we travel a lot through Central America and the US

Q. How does traveling enhance your current business?

A. It’s everything in our lives, it mainly enhances the bond and connection I have with my family and that’s the best thing there is. I mean, what else are we doing here?

Q. What advice do you have for people who want to travel while they work?

A. Make sure you have the spare time during your travels to devote to your biz. Otherwise, it will fall to the wayside. With kids it’s especially hard, so I arrange my work schedule a lot around the times I know they will be occupied.
